All-Star Catcher Justin Marra is Back!

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@iblmapleleafs) announced today the signing of 6 Time IBL All-Star Catcher Justin Marra (Mississauga, On)

This season will see the return of all the Marra brothers. The Toronto Maple Leaf first family of baseball. We will focus today on Justin, and what he has accomplished in his now 7th season with the Leafs.

In 38 Games last season, Justin hit .311 (47-151) with 8 2B’s, 11 HR’s and 44 RBI’s. His next Homerun will tie him with IBL Legend Rick Johnston. In his IBL career, Justin has a career average of .318 (250-787) with 42 2B’s, 63 HR’s and 215 RBI’s. He is also a great defensive catcher, calls a great game, and is a leader in the clubhouse.

Justin joined the Leafs after being drafted in the 15th round by the Chicago Cubs and spent 4 years in the minors, hitting 20 career homeruns in 164 games.

“I am so happy to be on the same team as Justin. The guy can dominate a game in so many ways. He still loves to compete and his love of playing the game with his blood family and brothers in the Leaf clubhouse is special.” GM Jeff Lounsbury

“Honored to be putting the Leaf crest back on my chest. Great to have another opportunity to represent my home city.” Justin Marra

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
