Infielder Dan Marra returns for 12th season
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@iblmapleleafs) announced today the signing veteran infielder Dan Marra (Toronto, On)
This season will see the return of all the Marra brothers. The Toronto Maple Leaf first family of baseball. We will focus today on Dan, and what he has accomplished in his now 8th season with the Leafs.
Last season Dan hit .340 (34-100) in 26 games, with 3 2B's, 2 HR's, 19 RBI's and 4 SB's. The former OBJ and South Dakota State Alum has a .300 career average in the IBL (355-1182) with 42 2B's, 11 HR's, 164 RBI's and 61 SB's.
"Dan had a pretty good year, considering that IBL pitching seems to be getting better and hitting .340 is just shy of the IBL's top 10. Dan brings experience, calmness and a desire to still play at a high level. He still plays steady defense and understands the game. I look forward to spending my summer with the First family of Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball. I have always respected the Marra family and now I get to learn from them as well and enjoy watching them play. " GM Jeff Lounsbury
"I'm excited for another summer, and with it another opportunity to represent the city that raised me with a great group of guys" Dan Marra
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
