The Leafs’ struggles continued as they dropped their second game in a row, falling 10–6 to the London Majors. With the loss, Toronto is now 2-8 in their last ten games and drop to 12–15 on the season.
Adam Jafine got the start for the Leafs and had a rough outing, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings en route to the loss.
For London, it was a bullpen day. Alex Springer and Colby Ring combined for 4.1 innings of three-run ball before turning it over to the rest of the relief corps.
London struck first, scoring a run in the opening frame on an RBI single from Tucker Zdunich that brought Toby Simmons home.
Toronto responded with a three-run bottom of the inning, featuring RBI singles from Chad Picton, Dennis Dei Baning, and Aidan McKaskie to take an early 3–1 lead.
London answered back in the second with an RBI double from Dre Amaral, and then broke the game open in the fourth and fifth innings, combining for six runs to take an 8–3 lead.
The Majors tacked on another run in the seventh on a Brad Verhoeven double play, making it 9–3.
Dennis Dei Baning sparked a late attempt at a comeback with a towering three-run homer to left field, cutting the deficit to 9–6.
Speaking after the game, Dei Baning commented on his recent hot streak:
“I made a few adjustments and it's going well for me right now.”
Eduardo De Oleo added insurance for London with a solo home run before Skylar Janisse came in to pitch two scoreless innings and secure the win for the Majors.
