The Leafs dropped their second game in a row, losing 7–4 to the last-place Guelph Royals.

Josh Berenbaum got the start for the Leafs and he struggled, allowing 4 earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched.

The Royals got to Berenbaum early, scoring three runs in the first inning. Andy Leader scored on an error by the Leafs' first baseman, followed by an RBI double from Garrett Takamatsu and an RBI single from Matthew Ward to give Guelph an early 3–0 lead.

The Leafs would get on the board in the top of the 3rd, scoring on a sacrifice fly from Rando Moreno, but the Royals would answer back quickly with a solo home run from Garrett Takamatsu to restore the three-run lead.

The Leafs put themselves within one in the top of the 4th on a 2-run home run from Marcus Knecht to bring the score to 4–3.

Guelph answered back in the bottom of the 5th, scoring three runs on a pair of RBI singles from Ethan Hammond and Ashton Patterson to go up 7–3.

The Leafs scored one more time in the top of the 7th on an RBI double from Ryan Dos Santos to put the score at 7–4.

Guelph would shut things down in the 8th and 9th innings on the back of some great relief pitching from Ashton Patterson and Edgar Garcia, who combined for 2 innings of shutout ball while striking out 4 to secure the win for Guelph.

With this loss, the Leafs drop to 1–3 on the season and sit in 7th place, 2.5 games back from the undefeated London Majors.

Coming up next, the Leafs take on the Hamilton Cardinals at home. First pitch flies at Dominico Field on Sunday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m.
