MAPLE LEAFS RE-SIGN GREG CARRINGTON
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have re-signed Right-Handed Pitcher/Outfielder Greg Carrington for the upcoming 2025 season.
Carrington, who will enter his sixth season with the Maple Leafs in 2025, appeared in 15 games with the bat and 13 on the mound last summer - his first full year as a two-way player. He tossed three scoreless appearances to begin the year, and wrapped up his season at the plate hitting .296. Since debuting in 2018, Carrington has amassed 7 HR and 69 RBI - regular and postseason - over 143 games at the dish. He registered his first career IBL Save in July of last year against Brantford, a scoreless three-up, three-down appearance.
“Between his speed in the outfield and his willingness to pitch some innings for us, Greg’s flexibility to jump back and forth as needed is a big plus for us. We think that, with another year of work on the mound, he can become a very effective two-way player in this league. As a team, you always look to have as much depth in multiple positions as you can, and Greg checks off multiple boxes,” said the club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
