MAPLE LEAFS SIGN ADAM JAFINE
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Left-Handed Pitcher Adam Jafine for the upcoming 2025 season.
Jafine, a Toronto native, spent parts of two seasons in the IBL with the Brantford Red Sox (2021) and Welland Jackfish (2023) while appearing in 18 Games across both years, including two consecutive complete games in the Playoffs for Brantford in which he struck out 16 and 11, respectively. A former member of the Canadian Junior National Team (2012-2013), Jafine was selected as an IBL Second Team All-Star in 2021.
“We’re ecstatic to have Adam join us this year - we’ve seen him have the ability to regularly dominate hitters in the IBL with his hard fastball from the left side, which has seen him rack up some serious strikeout numbers. It’s not always that you have the ability to add this caliber of pitcher to your staff, so we’re thrilled that we’ll be able to watch Adam pitch for us, instead of against us” said the club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
