MAPLE LEAFS SIGN DREW HOWARD
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Right-Handed Pitcher Drew Howard for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Howard, a Whitby native and graduate of the Toronto Mets program, most recently appeared with Young Harris College (NCAA) and went 4-0 over 12 games, nine starts. In 2024, he tossed with the University of Tampa where he recorded three saves over 14 games with a 3.45 ERA, striking out 14 in 15 ⅔ Innings. Over his final four appearances this year, Howard held a sub-three ERA with the Mountain Lions.
“We’re very excited to have Drew join our staff right away. He’s been stretched out, starting games, and has shown an ability to get outs effectively against some really good ballplayers. We expect Drew to start for us and we believe he will be a big piece for us moving forward, especially as we get deeper into the season,” said the club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
