MAPLE LEAFS SIGN JEFFREY MEJIA
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Infielder Jeffrey Mejia for the upcoming 2025 season.
Mejia will make his IBL debut in 2025. He played in the Dominican Republic as a member of multiple high-performance university and provincial level clubs that showcased the top players from each province. Mejia can play multiple positions on the Infield, and has shown major power from the right side of the plate.
“We were very impressed when we saw Jeffrey, his raw power from the right side of the dish. His ability to play multiple positions is a big bonus too. Having flexibility throughout your lineup to move guys around is something we were definitely looking for. With the power he has, we believe he can be a very effective player in this league,” said the club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
