MAPLE LEAFS SIGN JOSH BERENBAUM

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Right-Handed Pitcher Josh Berenbaum for the upcoming 2025 season.

Berenbaum, a native of Richmond, BC, will join the Maple Leafs after spending six years with the University of Fraser Valley Cascades. In 2024, he won the CCBC’s Cy Young Award and was named to the CCBC First Team All-Conference after going 3-0 with a 0.28 ERA over 32 Innings, notching 40 Strikeouts while allowing just one Earned Run as he led his team to a CCBC World Series Championship in May. Berenbaum has also seen time with the Alexandria Aces (CRCL), Victoria HarbourCats (WCL), and Kamloops NorthPaws (WCL).

“Josh is exactly the type of arm we want to have in Toronto, he’s coming off an excellent 2024 and has the ability to generate swings-and-misses at a very high rate. The success he’s had in BC, over a number of teams, as he’s grown into a more complete pitcher - this is something we look for. He’s excited to come here, to play with us, and we’re very excited to have him,” said the club.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
