Procopio returns for 2024!

TORONTO, Ontario – The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@MapleLeafsBaseball) announced today signing of right-handed pitcher Daniel Procopio (Rochester, NY)

Procopio who is originally from Toronto and is now living in Rochester returned to baseball after spending 4 years in the Los Angeles Angels system. Procopio was originally a 22nd round draft pick of the NY Mets in 2013 and then a 10th round pick from the Angels in 2017 after graduating from Niagara University. In his 4 years in pro ball Daniel had a 4-3 record and 4 saves with 144 strikeouts in 86 innings. Last season, Procopio returned home on Sunday’s and became Toronto’s Sunday afternoon pitcher. He compiled a record of 5-1 with a 4.92 ERA and had 58 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.

He battled some little nagging injuries and really showed a lot of determination and grit taking the ball every week. It was great to see him fall in love with the game again.” stated GM Jeff Lounsbury

Opening day is set for May 12 at 2:00pm at Christie Pits.
