The Leafs dropped their 5th game in a row on Sunday afternoon at Christie Pits. The Jackfish put on a dominant offensive performance to power themselves into a tie for first place in the CBL.

Yadian Martinez the start for the Leafs and after 2 quick outs he gave up a towering home run to Justin Gideon, this was followed by a hit batter and a home run to Brendan Luther which gave the Jackfish an early 3-0 lead.

On the Welland side it was Yoilan Quinonez who got the start and he was incredibly effective throwing 5 efficient innings of shutout ball where he limited the pitch count.

The Jackfish tacked on two more runs in the 4th inning, thanks to RBI hits by Bryce Arnold and Gio Morello to make it a 5-0 ballgame.

The Leafs' offense showed some light in the 8th, scoring on a home run by Matt Brandt, and an RBI double by JJ Dutton. However, Welland answered back with a run of their own in the 9th to reach the final score of 6-2.

The Leafs would manage to reach base a couple of times in the bottom of the 9th, but JJ Dutton would strike out to end the game - leaving Yasiel Puig in the on deck circle and securing the win for the Jackfish.
