Topolie to Accept Ontario Sports Hall of Fame Award on Behalf of Jack Dominico

TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball Club is excited to announce that Maple Leafs vice president of baseball operations and general/field manager Damon Topolie will accept the Bruce Prentice Legacy Award award on behalf of our late owner, Jack Dominico.

Dominico won the award, handed out by the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, in 2020, but was unable to accept it in 2020 and in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, after his unfortunate passing in January of this year, Topolie will accept the award on his behalf on Wednesday.

The Bruce Prentice Legacy Award is named in honour of Bruce Prentice, who founded the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame. Unveiled in 2015, the award has been given out to Tim Horton, Frank J. Selke, Frank J. Selke Jr., The Queen's Plate, The Conacher Family, and Dr. Frank Hayden.

The award is given out to an individual or group who has demonstrated remarkable, long-term contribution to sport in Ontario and the people involved.
