TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS ACQUIRE CASH CONSIDERATIONS FROM WELLAND
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have acquired Cash Considerations from the Welland Jackfish in exchange for Catcher/First Baseman Justin Marra.
Marra, who spent nine seasons with the Maple Leafs from 2016-2025, has appeared in 376 career games - regular season and playoffs combined. In 2025, the veteran backstop set a career-high with 40 regular season games, smashing 5 HR with 21 RBI. Following an outstanding rookie season in which Marra smacked 16 HR with 43 RBI while slashing .328/.442/.734 and being named to the All-CBL team that year, he was named league MVP in 2018 and selected five additional times to All-CBL squads.
A career .299 regular season hitter (299 games) and .304 in the playoffs (77 games), he sits 7th all-time with 85 career regular season home runs and 17th with 289 career RBI. He is one of three brothers who have spent their entire careers with the Maple Leafs until now, alongside Adam & Dan.
Correspondingly, we have received Cash Considerations from the Welland Jackfish.
