TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS RE-SIGN CATCHER JHON JAVIER

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have re-signed Catcher Jhon Javier for the upcoming 2026 season.

Javier returns to Toronto after a fantastic rookie season in 2026, slashing .322/.378/.483 over 41 regular season games. He swatted 6 HR - good for fourth-best on the team - while knocking in 28 RBI. Javier was named an All-Star as a reserve, one of six Maple Leafs to achieve that feat in 2025.

The Dominican Republic native appeared in five playoff games, hitting .286 (6-for-21) with 5 RBI, including a 4-for-4 day at the plate against Barrie in Game 2 of the first round. Primarily a catcher, Javier rotated around the diamond last summer while seeing time at both 3B and the OF. At one point reaching an on-base streak of 22 games, the youngster recorded multi-hit games eighteen times overall.

Javier is the fourth import signing this offseason and the third returning Maple Leaf from 2025.
