TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS RE-SIGN INFIELDER MIKE CECCHETTO

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have re-signed Infielder Mike Cecchetto for the upcoming 2026 season.

Cecchetto, who spent parts of the last two seasons dawning a Maple Leafs uniform, is set to enter his eighth year in the league with Toronto in 2026. Prior to an injury-shortened season this past summer, the 28-year-old posted outstanding numbers in 2024 after arriving from Guelph - hitting .393 (11-for-28) over 10 regular season games with 1 HR and 5 RBI, followed by a playoff series against his former Baycats that saw him swat 2 HR, going 4-for-11 over three playoff games.

A 2018 debut with Toronto, followed by spells in Hamilton, Barrie, and Guelph, has led Cecchetto back to the Maple Leafs as the club’s first re-signing this offseason. The powerful righty has also spent time coaching with Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) Men's Baseball Team (OUA) and is one of a number of former Humber Hawks (OCAA) to appear in the CBL.
