TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS RE-SIGN OUTFIELDER DENNIS DEI BANING

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have re-signed Outfielder Dennis Dei Baning for the upcoming 2026 season.

Acquired from the Hamilton Cardinals in January of 2025, Dei Baning entered his fifth CBL season with the Maple Leafs this past summer. Over 36 regular season games, he set career-bests in HR (7) and RBI (32) while also being selected as Player of the Month for July, when Dei Baning hit a whopping .458 with 22 hits - four of which were home runs.

Prior to making his CBL debut with the Welland Jackfish in 2021, Dei Baning played with Humber College and was a two-time OCAA Champion with the Hawks that included being twice-selected as an OCAA All-Star as well as being named 2021 OCAA Player of the Year. In 2024, he was named as a CBL All-Star amidst a season that saw him slash .282/.353/.385 while recording double-digit stolen bases.

Dei Baning also saw time with the Fort McMurray Giants (WCBL) in 2022 and is the seventh Maple Leaf set to return this summer thus far.
