TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS RE-SIGN OUTFIELDER MARCUS KNECHT
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have re-signed Outfielder Marcus Knecht for the upcoming 2026 season.
A former Toronto Blue Jays prospect, Knecht will enter his seventh season with the Maple Leafs in 2026 after putting together a fantastic 2025 campaign. Across 28 regular season games, he slashed .358/.440/.670 with 8 HR and 24 RBI - his highest home run total since 2021. Knecht was named an All-Star starter this past summer, one of six Maple Leafs to be selected, and also received All-CBL Second Team honours.
Prior to joining the Blue Jays organization, Knecht won Rookie of the Year in 2009 with the then-Oshawa Dodgers and has since been rewarded with two additional All-CBL First Team selections in 2019 and 2021. He has also spent time with Team Canada for both the World Cup of Baseball and Pan-Am Games, and has also seen time in the Canadian-American Association (CAN-AM), Atlantic League (ALPB), and the Australian Baseball League (ABL).
As one of the most experienced ballplayers in the CBL, Knecht is the eighth returning Maple Leaf.
