TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN CATCHER DIONYSIUS CHIALTAS

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Catcher Dionysius Chialtas for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Chialtas returns to the Maple Leafs for the first time since 2024, when he made his debut with Toronto and appeared in 15 games with the club. That year, he notched one home run with seven runs driven in and walked six times. 

Prior to, he had spent time with both Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (2021-2023) and Doane University (2024). Through 109 games with the Golden Norsemen, Chialtas slashed .284/.392/.470 while amassing 13 HR and 82 RBI with 54 walks. During that time, he also posted a .987 FLD% from behind the plate.

In 2024 with the Doane University Tigers, Chialtas hit .279 across 27 games with five doubles and eight runs batted in. Chialtas will provide support for Maple Leafs’ Matt Brandt, who has caught every inning of Toronto’s first fourteen games.
