TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN INFIELDER BRANDO LEROUX
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Infielder Brando Leroux for the upcoming 2026 season.
Leroux, a Markham native, joins the Maple Leafs after having spent parts of the last four seasons with the Guelph Royals. Across 111 total games in the then-IBL, Leroux hit .291 with 2 HR and 47 RBI while stealing 37 bases. In 2024, he was named as an All-Star to the North Team as the starting second baseman.
The speedy Leroux has also spent time at Chipola College (2022), Bossier Parrish Community College (2023), and, most recently, at Florida Atlantic University (2024-2026). In 2025 with the Owls, Leroux started 53 games at shortstop while hitting .319 - good for the team lead. He was named to the All-AAC Second Team, and added to the midseason watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award (best shortstop).
Across his time at FAU, Leroux slashed a combined .265/.363/.363 with 9 HR and 87 RBI over 163 games. A graduate of the Toronto Mets program, Leroux also spent time with Baseball Canada in 2019 and 2020 on the National Junior Team.
