TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN RHP ROLANDO HERMIDA
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Right-Handed Pitcher Rolando Hermida for the upcoming 2026 season.
Hermida, a native of Cosamaloapan, Mexico, joins the Maple Leafs after spending time with El Aguila de Veracruz of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), El Aguila-Barvos, and the Guerreros de Tampa in Florida most recently.
The 5’9” righty spent parts of 2022-2024 with Veracruz, appearing primarily out of the bullpen, however did notch five innings of one-hit ball in his rookie season against Diablos-Guerreros. A smattering of notable ex-MLB players have appeared with Veracruz over those seasons alongside Hermida, including Alexi Amarista, Rico Noel, Junior Lake, Alex Liddi, Esmil Rogers, Phillips Valdez, and Yasiel Puig - among others.
Hermida is an import and the 13th member of the Maple Leafs’ active pitching staff.
