TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN UTILITYMAN COOPER TOMKINSON

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Utilityman Cooper Tomkinson for the upcoming 2026 season.

Tomkinson, a Barrie native, joins Toronto with a wealth of local and international experience across both North America and Australia. Currently a member of the UWA Magpies of the Harcher State League (HSL), he’s previously spent time with Dodge City Community College, Emmanuel University, and Union Commonwealth University - as well as spending the 2025 summer with the Newmarket Hawks (GTBL).

In his most recent collegiate season with the Union Bulldogs in 2025, Tomkinson hit .282 with 23 RBI over 41 games after arriving from Emmanuel University. Primarily an infielder with some time in the outfield, the 6’2” lefty-bat slashed .341/.491/.545 with the Newmarket Hawks across 14 games last summer. Now in Australia, Tomkinson is currently hitting .275 through 51 at-bats with five walks.

Tomkinson arrives with flexibility at multiple positions defensively, and is the fourth addition thus far to the Maple Leafs 2026 roster.
