Toronto signs Julian Valdez

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@iblmapleleafs) announced today the signing Right Handed Pitcher Julian Junior Valdez (Santo Domingo, DR)

Valdez joins the leafs after spending 3 seasons in the Toronto Bluejays organization. Last season in Dunedin, Valdez went 3-4 with a save with 43 strikeouts in 40 Innings. The 24 yr old was signed by Toronto as a International Free Agent in 2018.

"Valdez will be able to fill in at any role necessary.  At 24 yr's old with a low 90's fastball and closing experience in the minors I think we are getting a pitcher who is still getting better." GM Jeff Lounsbury

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
