Woodbine Racetrack Game Report: Leafs Can't Solve Corrente as Jackfish Force Game Four

WELLAND - To game four we go.

The Welland Jackfish staved off elimination on Tuesday evening, beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 10-2 in game three of this best-of-five semifinal series.

Welland starter Rich Corrente was great on the mound in a complete game performance for the Jackfish, allowing only two earned runs on nine hits and three walks.

Jackfish right fielder Justin Gideon went two-for-four with a walk.

Toronto starter Zach Sloan took the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks in three innings pitched.

BIGGEST PLAY OF THE GAME: Up 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Gideon hit a double to give the Jackfish a 4-1 lead.

The game never really felt in doubt from that point onward.
