TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN OUTFIELDER BEN STERRITT
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Outfielder Ben Sterritt for the upcoming 2026 season.
Sterritt, a 23-year-old from Wasaga Beach, joins the Maple Leafs after spending the last two years with Ohio Christian University, appearing in 70 games across the two seasons. In 2024 with the Trailblazers, he slashed .352/.450/.519 with 3 HR, 25 RBI, and only eight strikeouts in 108 at-bats. An equally-impressive 2025 had him slashing .356/.492/.510, which included a 13-game hitting streak that saw Sterritt notch multi-hit performances eight times.
He was selected to the NCCAA Mideast Region 1st Team in 2025, one of three Trailblazers to receive the nomination. This past summer with the Bolton Brewers of the North Dufferin Baseball League (NDBL), Sterritt hit .546 with a .667 OBP over 24 games as the Brewers went 19-5.
The 6’2” outfielder joins the recently-signed Jacob Bonzon as first-year Maple Leafs who will make their professional debut in the CBL this upcoming season.
