TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS SIGN RHP FRANKIE GULKO

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@mapleleafsbaseball) have signed Right-Handed Pitcher Frankie Gulko for the upcoming 2026 season.

Gulko, who arrives in Toronto with an extensive resume in the United States over the past few years, most recently having appeared with the Utica Unicorns in 2025 - one of four teams in the USPBL, alongside recently-signed Visili Kaloudis’ Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers. He tossed 14 ⅔ innings over three games with the Unicorns, striking out 20. 

Prior, Gulko appeared over parts of two seasons with the Salem University Tigers from 2023-2024, and was teammates with fellow Maple Leaf Ben Sitarenios. During his time there, Gulko went a combined 12-7 over 126 ⅓ innings, striking out 105. A starter by trade, he went 6+ innings sixteen times with Salem - including a stretch in 2024 that saw him have three consecutive seven-inning starts, one of which being a 10-strikeout performance against Mansfield. Gulko was selected to the 1st Team All-Conference in his final year with Salem, also winning a Gold Glove and being named as a Team Captain.

Playing with the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks of the Alaska Baseball League (ABL), Gulko posted a 3.51 ERA over nine starts, leading his team in innings pitched (51 ⅓) and strikeouts (40). He was named Pitcher of the Year and a 1st Team All-Star.

Frankie Gulko is the sixth import signing for Toronto this offseason.
